History

The "Farmácia Portuguesa (Andrade)" (Portuguese Pharmacy) was established on 11th November 1917 and it is one of the oldest and most traditional pharmacies in Funchal. This pharmacy has always been in possession of the same family.

From 1989 onwards the founder's greatgranddaughter Dr. Ana Mafalda Rodrigues has been in charge of the "Farmácia Portuguesa".

The premises of this well-known pharmacy are located in Funchal's historical nucleus "Sé" (Cathedral). Being a familiar business it still keeps its original features.
Residents as well as many tourists and emigrants visit this pharmacy regularly and maintain a close loyal relationship with it.
